Article 6.2 is moving from rules to implementation.
Gold Standard and Verra have launched a new tool to support host countries in reporting corresponding adjustments for carbon credits authorised under Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement.
The tool brings together corresponding adjustment data for authorised credits issued under both standards and can automatically populate the relevant reporting table for countries’ 2026 Biennial Transparency Reports.
The development addresses a practical challenge within Article 6.2. Countries need reliable systems to track authorised units, apply corresponding adjustments and report them consistently.
For carbon markets, this infrastructure matters. Corresponding adjustments are central to preventing double counting, while efficient reporting processes can reduce administrative burden and the risk of errors.
As Article 6 moves further into implementation, developments such as this will be worth watching — particularly as countries build the systems needed to participate in international carbon markets at scale.
