Multilateral Climate Funds Publish First Joint Results Report

As a consulting firm that has supported the design and development of projects for the Green Climate Fund, the Global Environment Facility and the Adaptation Fund, we at C4 welcome the publication of the Multilateral Climate Funds Joint Results Report.

For the first time, the Adaptation Fund, CIF, GEF and GCF present aggregated results across their mitigation, adaptation, energy and technology, and nature portfolios. This joint reporting reflects US$34 billion in approved financing and US$176.2 billion in co-financing across 2,287 active projects in 145 countries.

The reported outcomes across all funds and their projects are as follows:

  • 9.3 billion tonnes of CO₂ equivalent emissions expected to be reduced or avoided over project’s lifetimes
  • 1.785 billion people expected to benefit from strengthened climate resilience
  • 65,900 MW of low-emission energy capacity expected to be installed
  • 3.8 billion hectares expected to be brought under sustainable management

Joint reporting enhances transparency, coherence and complementarity across the climate finance architecture. It also demonstrates how targeted public climate finance can mobilise scale and deliver measurable global impact.

We congratulate the leadership and teams of the four funds on this milestone and on the sustained results achieved to date. We look forward to continuing to support countries in translating climate ambition into robust, bankable programmes that deliver mitigation, adaptation, and measurable biodiversity and ecosystem benefits at scale.
